Burger King enters the chicken sandwich fast food wars June 3rd with the released of its Ch’ King hand breaded chicken sandwich. The burger chain is trying a different approach than its fast food competitors by hand breading its chicken.
The current chicken wars really started in August 2019 when Popeyes a sister brand to Burger King also owned by Restaurant Brands International released what who become a blockbuster chicken sandwich. The Popeyes sandwich was so popular that the chain ran out of chicken sandwich’s for a while
After the success of Popeye’s chicken sandwich the other fast food chains have all added their version with Mc Donald’s even eventually adding their own version. Because of the increasing demand for all these chains the price of chicken breasts has spiked but Burger King thinks they will have enough supply to keep up with demand i guess we will find out if thats the case.
Burger King with going the hand breaded route sets it apart from rivals but also it has added to training and equipment costs so we will have to see if the extra effort was worth it.
Free Whopper Promotion
To celebrate the nationwide launch of the new Burger King chicken sandwich, customers who order online or use the Burger King app to get the sandwich will also get a free Whopper sandwich. The deal which starts June 3rd and, runs through June 20th so i will definitely have to try to sandwich and add a review soon.
